Fall is here and with that comes the perfect time to complete some home improvement tasks. Here are a few you may want to complete, if you haven’t already.
Windows
Inspect the weather stripping and caulk around your windows, if you find that it needs some attention, be sure to take care of it. Also, be sure to give your windows a good washing. If you need new windows, make sure to get them replaced before it gets too cold as you don’t want your heating bill to go up from old, inefficient windows.
Heating System & Chimneys
If you have a chimney, be sure to have it inspected to make sure there aren’t any loose bricks and everything is working properly. It’s not a bad idea to schedule a cleaning as well. An efficient chimney saves you money on heating!
For heating systems, have your HVAC company come out and give your system a checkup. It’s best to make sure everything is in working order before you need to heat your house.
Paint
Have you noticed some rooms in your house need some new paint? Or maybe your front door could use a fresh coat? The fall is a great time to paint because the temperatures are dropping and you can open the windows to let the fumes out without getting too hot or cold yet.
Roof
When was the last time you had your roof inspected? If it’s been a while, now is the time. You want to make sure there are no loose shingles and everything is safe and secure before the harsh winter arrives.
Insurance
