School is almost back in session, and it made us think about all of the teens that are getting their licenses and preparing to drive to school. As parents we worry about our children’s safety. It can get worse once they have their license and want to drive. One thing you can do is teach your child good driving skills and encourage them to drive safely all the time! Let’s take a look at a few driving tips:
Keep Your Phone in Your Bag
More and more accidents are happening because of texting and driving. Instill in your children that they need to keep their phone away from them while they are driving. If it is close by, it could distract them when a call or text comes through.
Obey the Speed Limits
There are different speed limits on roads for a reason. These are the safe speeds that can be driven on those roads. Teach them that it is important to obey all speed limits.
Always Wear Your Seat Belt
In the event of an accident it is important to make sure they are protected. A seat belt will protect them.
Stay Focused
People are not only getting into accidents because of their phones but also because they are distracted by other things. Teach them that when they are in the driver’s seat, they need to stay focused on the road.
As always, make sure your car insurance policy has them on it, and they are protected. If you want to review your policy to ensure they are protected, contact us today!
