Individual hygienic healthcare protection against coronavirus spread.

To consent or not to consent? That is the question.

As we move from red to yellow, it cautiously opens up the opportunity to meet with our customers face-to-face instead of virtually. To protect yourself and your customers and to insure them you have taken proper precautionary measures, you may want to create a Consent Form for your business for them to sign. This form makes them aware of the measures you are enforcing at your business for the protection of everyone. The example shown is one we are using at Rothenberger Insurance and Advocate Insurance, and is not meant to copy but to provide you with the idea to create your own. Ours includes the CDC protocol and asks them to provide information about their own current condition, once signed, it provides us with a record of their visit to our office. Along with completing the consent form, it is good practice to take their temperature when they arrive as well as when they leave your office making sure to document the information for your records.

Our hopes, as is the hopes of others, are that when we move from yellow to green, we will be able to lift some of the precautionary measures and step into a more normal “new normal.”

Other protection needed when meeting with your customers face-to-face is to make certain both you and your customers are wearing facemasks, use their own pens, if comfortable, wear gloves when signing paperwork. Whenever possible, properly install plexiglass dividers between your customer and you. Make certain to have hand sanitizer available. Whenever possible, provide a one-way experience for your customer’s visits to ensure you are able to comply with social distancing.

Share with us some of the ways in which you are creating a safe environment for your employees and customers. We’d love to hear from you.
