Thanksgiving is almost here and with that comes family gatherings and homes smelling like turkey and sweets! If you’re the one who hosts your family gatherings, you probably already have a list of to dos, but one thing to focus on, during your prep and the festivities, is safety! Keep your Thanksgiving fun and enjoyable by following these tips.
- Never leave your stove unattended when cooking. If you need to step away, ask someone to keep an eye on what you’re cooking.
- Set up a kid zone for them to play in. Make sure it is away from the kitchen and has everything they need so they aren’t always running in and asking you for things while they are cooking.
- Keep lit candles where you can see them. If you want your house smelling good, candles will do the trick! But just make sure they are in locations where they are out of reach of kids and not near things that could easily catch on fire.
- Have a fire extinguisher nearby. You can do everything possible to prevent a fire, but just in case it would happen, have a fire extinguisher handy!
