Spring is here and as the weather warms up we need to take care of some home maintenance tasks around the house. This past winter, February in particular, created havoc with lots and lots of snow. This is why this year, it is very important to do some home maintenance outside.
Here’s a checklist for you to follow:
- Gutters and Downspouts – You want to make sure to get out and clean any clogged gutters and downspouts. April showers are just around the corner, and if your downspouts and gutters aren’t cleaned, you may end up having issues with water getting into your house.
- Roof – If you noticed you lost some shingles during the winter months, have your roof inspected. Make sure to take care of any repairs right away before it gets worse.
- Driveway – Take a walk down your driveway and see how it’s holding up. If all of the snow caused potholes or cracks to form, have them patched and resealed before they get worse.
- Air-Conditioner – You may not be thinking about it now, but you want to get your air-conditioner serviced before the weather heats up. This way you know you’ll be ready to turn it on come the first hot day of summer!
As we get further into spring, you’re going to want to spend more time outdoors with your family not work on home maintenance projects. Make sure you get these items off your list early, so you can enjoy the warm weather!
