Well winter is finally over and we made it, now that spring is upon us it is a good time to do some car maintenance. I have a few helpful things you may want to remember to do this time of year.
- Give your car a bath – Your car most likely still has some salt residue that you will want to remove to prevent damage to the paint and undercarriage of the vehicle. If nothing else a quick trip through the auto wash can do wonders.
- Do those things you neglect in the cold – Go get you oil changed and check your fluids. Neglect is not a reason to file an insurance claim, so remember that after a cold winter your engine may need some tlc.
- Make sure you can stop when you need to – Make sure to check your breaks, especially if you enjoyed sliding around all winter. Break failure can be a matter of life and death, so this is one tip you don’t want to skip.
- Mix things up – While you are checking those breaks go ahead and rotate your tires and check tire pressure. It is suggested every 5000 miles. So spring is a great time to get out and do it.
- Out with the old in with the new – A lot of windshield wipers are damaged in the winter, so spring is a great time to switch them out. The last thing you want is to get in an accident from a spring downpour because the wipers were no longer doing their job.
Hopefully those tips will get you out and enjoy a safe and wonderful spring!
