Creating a Business Continuity Plan

One thing COVID-19 may have done for many businesses is make them realize that they need to have a few policies in place, such as a Business Continuity Plan. It is true this is something most of us have never experienced in our lifetime; so it is not something that we felt we needed to be prepared for. But, all of this will change our way of life.

Something you can do for your business is create a Business Continuity Plan. This will allow you to be more prepared for the future and what it may hold.

A Business Continuity Plan includes procedures and instructions for your business to follow should a disaster happen to help the business survive the event. It refers to how a business will maintain functioning or how to quickly resume after the disturbance. Thanks to COVID-19, many of us will already be well on our way in working on our Business Continuity Plan.

Your plan needs to include the following:

  • Supplies and equipment that will be needed if you are continuing to work on-site or remotely.
  • Any locations of your data backups and your backup sites.
  • Contact information for any emergency responders.
  • A list of key personnel.

If you don’t know where to start when it comes to creating a plan, give us a call! We can help you create or review and build onto your already in-place Business Continuity Plan to make sure everything you need is covered.

If your business is closed for the time being, this is the perfect time to work on your plan. Contact us today and let’s start the discussion.
