Consumers advised to take steps to avoid weather-related damages

Jim Hawkins didn’t even hear the crashing sounds. A neighbor called him last Friday night at about 10 to tell him that three-quarters of the roof of his barn on Hardwood Lane in Amity Township had collapsed.

In it was equipment and two horses, one of which was injured.

His car didn’t sustain damage below the one-quarter of the roof that didn’t fall.
